About the Park
The park is a quiet and tranquil place to enjoy the natural world and is accessible with hard paths for all in every season. There are many benches to rest on, carvings to view, a children’s play and picnic area. It is a place to relax, reflect, re-energise and see wildlife, plants and trees and wildflowers. In the woodland there is much to explore and the sensory garden adds to the experience.
The land for the park was purchased by the Little Chalfont Charitable Trust with funds raised through a community appeal. It opened to the public in 2016. Conservation is important for this site – which is 66% meadow and the remainder is semi-ancient woodland. The meadow has a rare classification of MG5 grassland (98% of which has disappeared nationally in the last century). As no chemicals have ever been used on the meadow, the flowers and habitat you see today are as it was hundreds of years ago, a very rare sight today.
